Corning, N.Y. (WENY)-- The Corning Gaffer District's 10th Annual Glassfest kicks off just two weeks from now. Organizers have been busy preparing for the milestone anniversary event.

     The event kicks off on Thursday, May 23rd at the Corning Museum of Glass with a special edition of 2300 Degrees. There will be a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30pm, then 2300 runs until 8:00pm. It is free to the public. The fun continues on Friday, May 24th with outdoor hot glass shows by CMoG on Centerway Square from 12:00pm-8:00pm. There will be a scavenger hunt and featured artist stroll as well. Friday night, two bands will take the stage for the Rock the Park concert. The Battle of the Bands Champion will play from 6:30pm-8:00pm, and The Town Pants will perform from 8:30pm-10:00pm.

     Saturday of Glassfest kicks off with the Wineglass 8K at 8:00am, starting and finishing at War Memorial Stadium next to Corning High School. The day will be filled with outdoor hot glass shows, arts and crafts vendors, a magician, live music, family activities, and so much more. Sunday will feature much of the same, and will end with another Rock the Park concert, starting at 12:00pm. Battle of the Bands runner-ups will play from 12:00pm-2:30pm. At 2:40pm there will be a Memorial Day Salute. The band Sway will then take the stage from 3:00pm-4:30 to wrap up Glassfest 2019.
