American Airlines donating to two communities affected from recent mass shootings
EL PASO, TEXAS (WENY) – American Airlines is vowing to donate $150,000 to support the El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio communities, following this past weekends deadly mass shootings.
The first shooting occurred at a Walmart in El Paso when a gunman opened fire killing 22 people and injuring many others. The following day, nine people died in a bar shooting in Dayton, Ohio's entertainment district.
According to CEO Doug Parker, $75,000 will go to relief funds in each community to help make sure that those affected will have access to the resources they need.
In El Paso, the money is set to go to the El Paso community foundation. In Dayton, the donation will go to the Dayton Oregon District tragedy fund at the Dayton foundation.
