Motorcyclist injured after wreck in Elmira
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – A motorcyclist was injured during a wreck that involved a sedan in the City of Elmira.
On Thursday, around 11:00 a.m., police responded to Clemens Center Parkway and East Gray Street for reports of a car vs. motorcycle crash.
Upon arrival, officers say they found both vehicles still in the roadway. Further investigation reportedly found a Volvo sedan was driving North on Clemens Center Parkway. The driver tried to turn left onto East Gray Street and failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle, which was driving south on Clemens Center Parkway.
As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist was ejected; police say he conscious and alert and was transported to a local hospital for leg injuries.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Officers say they were able to find and speak to two independent witnesses about the accident. As a result of the investigation, the driver of the sedan was ticketed for failing to yield the right of why while turning left.
