WAVERLY, N.Y. (WENY) -- Following a six-month-long narcotics investigation, police in Waverly have put three men behind bars.

Janis Stevenson, 46, David Crawn, 30, and Steven Shaffer, 62, were arrested for various heroin-related illegal drug activity and sale charges.

The arrest happened in the morning hours on Tuesday, August 6.

All three men appeared in Tioga County Court that day for arraignment.

Stevenson has been charged with felony criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and felony possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.

Crawn is charged with felony criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree.

Shaffer has been charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.

They were sent to the Tioga County Jail to await further legal action.

No bail amount was set.
