HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Saturday night was the finale of the Ferrario Elmira Jazz Festival, which had an extremely large turn out.

The festival took place at Thorne Street Park in Horseheads. It's an annual fundraiser that Ferrario holds to benefit Economic Opportunity Program of Chemung and Schuyler counties.

This year EOP set a goal to reach 40,000 dollars that will help the organization expand and create new programs.

Vice President of Community and Donor Relations for EOP says this was one of their most successful fundraisers.

"Well I think what makes it special is the community comes together because music is a unifier. Not only do we have our local people, but we have people coming from Syracuse, Binghamton, Rochester, and just showing them what we do in our area and why we do for EOP is special," says Anita Lewis, Vice President of Community and Donor Relations for EOP.

Anita Lewis tells WENY news that over 600 people attended the festival this year between the two days.
