ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – Caden Charnetski, the man accused of driving while high on marijuana in the crash that killed a couple on their motorcycle in Horseheads last summer is set to be sentenced on Friday.

Charnetski was found guilty of vehicular manslaughter in the first degree. The crash killed Harolyn and Matthew Matteson of Horseheads on July 10, 2018. They left behind three children.

According to Chemung County District Attorney, Weeden Wetmore, Charnetski faces five to 15 years in prison. However, Weeden says he is still eligible for youthful offender status.

The sentencing is scheduled for Friday morning at the Chemung County Courthouse.
