Two people arrested in separate grand larceny incidents in Horseheads
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) – Horseheads Police made two arrests on Wednesday after they say one person allegedly stole a purse and another person allegedly stole a car.
Around 10:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Village Plaza on Westinghouse Road for the report of a stolen purse.
Police say a short time later, 43-year-old Kristy Tenny of Horseheads was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree. She was sent to the Chemung County Jail.
Then, shortly after, Horseheads Police officers were dispatched to the Grand Central Plaza on Center Street for the report of a stolen vehicle.
Police say the vehicle was ultimately located at the intersection of Camden Avenue and Catalpa Drive. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and identified as 39-year-old Joseph Tocco of Elmira.
He was charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and sent to the Chemung County Jail.
The Elmira Heights Police Department, Chemung County Sheriff's Department and New York State Police assisted with both incidents.
