ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) – The Finger Lakes School of Massage's accreditation appeal has been denied and the school has been ordered to close.

According to the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), issues like inconsistent record keeping were why they denied the school's accreditation application in April.

The school appealed the decision, but on August 16, that appeal was denied by ACCET.

Officials say the school must immediately stop enrollment and shut down by October 31.

FLSM has three campuses. Its main campus is in Ithaca and it has two satellite campuses in Mount Kisco, New York and Frederick, Maryland.
