TROY, PA (WENY) -- A Bradford County man is accused of injuring an infant after sexually assaulting her.

22-year-old Jacob Ayers of Troy is charged with felony aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, and a misdemeanor count of indecent assault. That's according to Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.

Troopers say Ayers is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-month-old girl in Troy, when she was being watched by Ayers back on August 19th. A Pennsylvania State Police report says Ayers caused multiple injuries to the child during that assault. Troopers say Ayers "digitally penetrated the Victim's vagina causing multiple injuries to the Victim."

Ayers was arraigned in Athens, and is currently behind bars in the Bradford County Correctional Facility on $250,000 bail.
