ELMIRA, NY (WENY) - Thursday was a big day for the Elmira Enforcers as the team announced more player signings for the 2019-2020 season, as well as a schedule of special events at First Arena during the upcoming season.

The players joining the team today after signing, Nathan Pelligra, Cameron Yarwood, and Kyle Stevens will all return for their second season with Elmira, and the team picked up newcomer, Egor Babynin from Russia.

Pelligra tallied 22 points in 40 games in the FHL and SPHL, and he was traded last season to Elmira from the Danville Dashers. Yarwood had a stellar season with the Enforcers last season, winning Defensiveman of the Year for the Enforcers and in the FHL. Lastly, Stevens was one of the top players on the roster last season, racking up 55 points in the regular season and adding 7 more during the playoffs.

The Enforcers picked up Babynin after spending the last two seasons in the MHL, a Russian Junior League. This will be his first full season in the United States after playing just one game for the Macon Mayhem in the SPHL last year. Enforcers Owner, Robbie Nichols is excited for the development of this year's squad.

"We're starting to look good." said Nichols after Thursday's press conference. The mission I have given to Coach Clarke is to finish what we didn't do last year. We want to win a championship and that's our goal. We won't settle until we win a championship here, the fans deserve it."

Nichols also announced a schedule of special events at First Arena during the 2019-2020 season.

On September 9th-12th, the Enforcers will be hosting a hockey camp with a series of classes with Head Coach, Brent Clarke and some of the players. It is $25 per class or $79 for all four days. The Enforcers will also be hosting the NYPD hockey team on February 19th before the NYPD heads to an international tournament.

Nichols also announced that MMA will be returning to First Arena with the Art of Combat on October 5th. On Christmas Eve, CAN-USA Sports and Enforcers players will be serving dinner from noon-2 PM in a day of giving for the less fortunate.

Then on Friday and Saturday, January 10th-11th, the arena will hold Xtreme International Ice Racing. The Wine and Beer Festival on Ice will take place just a week later on January 17th and 18th.

Lastly, Nichols was excited to announce that CAN-USA Sports has partnered with the Elmira Eagles, part of the American Basketball Association, as the team will play two games at First Arena on February 7th and 8th.

The Enforcers begin their second season on October 19th at Watertown, with their home opener on the 25th against the Carolina Thunderbirds at 7:05 PM.
