MONTOUR FALLS, N.Y. (WENY) -- After a police chase turned into a foot chase, one man from Beaver Dams is facing several charges after he was accused in court of putting the lives of officers at risk on Wednesday.

Nicholas Ingersoll of Beaver Dams, had his first court appearance in the Village of Montour Falls. Ingersoll is facing several charges including reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and a meth related charge.

The Schuyler County Sheriff's Office confirms to WENY News, the police chase started in Montour Falls, and came to an end in Beaver Dams on State Route 414.

Reports of the chase began around noon on Wednesday, and the suspect was taken into custody roughly two hours later. During the ordeal, in one radio transmission, a law enforcement official said, "The subject is ramming patrol cars..."

In court, it was revealed that Ingersoll was apprehended after a foot chase. His lawyer stated that Ingersoll has never been convicted of a felony before.

Ingersoll was sent to the Schuyler County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
