HECTOR, N.Y. (WENY) – The “U-Pick” grape season at Lilly Family Farm has officially kicked off

During September, anyone can come to the vineyard, which is located at 5344 State Route 414 in Hector, and pick grapes.

The vineyards are open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Those wanting to pick grapes must go to the Hector Handmade gift shop at the farm and buy a container. Sizes range from a quart for $2, a five pound bag for $6 or a 20 pound bag for $20.

“The best thing about coming out here to Lilly Family Farm is to stop and pause, and take a moment with your loved ones to enjoy the beauty of the Finger Lakes,” said Jennie Scarbrough, co-owner of Hector Handmade. “Plus, they're (the grapes) are just really delicious.”

Hector Handmade also sells locally made gifts and features creations from over 50 artists.

Additionally, in the summer, the farm offers blueberry picking.
