Ithaca's Annual Apple Fest Weekend
ITHACA, N.Y.(WENY)-- Fall has officially kicked off and it is apple picking season! But, if you do not have time to make it out to an orchard this weekend, Downtown Ithaca is bringing everything apple to you! The Ithaca Commons, along with a few other streets near by, are being taken over until Sunday night of the 29th. The festival includes everything from fresh picked apples, candied apples, apple cider donuts, and even apple cider. Besides all of the apple products, there is also a wide variety of local food trucks, coffee stops, craft vendors, and much more to explore throughout the festival. Even those who are not full time Ithaca residents say there is no reason not to come out.
"It's a great time, a lot of activities, there's so many people here. There's really no reason not to come out. Everyone's always so happy, like it's just such a positive vibe and energy. You get a real feel of like what the cities all about," A group of Ithaca College students tell WENY News.
If you are looking for gifts for upcoming birthdays and or holidays, this festival is the place to be! You can find hand made jewelry, hats, accessories and more just by walking through the festival .
The festival kicked off Friday afternoon and will be running until late Sunday evening until about 5 p.m. The event is free to walk around and check out everything fall and apple related right in the comfort of Downtown Ithaca. For the full map of the event, click here.
