Cornell University hosts Inside Congress panel discussion with Rep. Adam Schiff
ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) – Students and Staff at Cornell University made their way to the Schwartz Center on campus to talk politics on Thursday morning. Representative Adam Schiff, who is the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee sat on a four person panel to discuss the impeachment inquiry against the president.
“These are actions that jeopardize our national security that are inviting a foreign country to illegally involve itself in our campaign,” says Rep. Schiff.
Schiff and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have been at the forefront of the impeachment inquiry against the president. President Trump has called for both of their resignations. On Thursday, Schiff addressed the concerns regarding the President seeking a foreign country's help in an election warrants an investigation.
“The solicitation of help under those circumstances betrays his oath of office to faithfully execute the laws, and one of the laws was the appropriation of money to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia.
On Wednesday night, Schiff tweeted, 'The White House's desperate effort to cover up and conceal wont deter congress from exposing the facts. Trump abused his power and endangered our national security. We have the call records, we have the texts. The evidence of his grave misconduct only grows.'
