(WENY) – Friday is the last day to register to vote in New York State for the 2019 elections.

To register, you can either visit your local board of elections, register online, or mail in your registration form; however, the letter must be postmarked on October 11.

To be eligible to register to vote, you must:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be 18 years old by the date of the general, primary or other election you want to vote in
  • Be a resident of New York State and your specific county, city or village for at least 30 days before the election
  • Not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction (unless parolee pardoned or restored rights of citizenship)
