UPDATE 10/13/19 11:28 AM: The crash happened on County Route 76 between Rugby Rd. and Briglin Rd. A small memorial with flowers, candles and a wooden cross can be seen on the tree where the vehicle hit. Glass remnants were surrounding the tree and one of the candles had writing on it that read, "We love you, you will be missed." 

PULTENEY, N.Y. (WENY) -- Four people are dead after a early morning car crash on Saturday in Steuben County.

According to Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard, the crash happened on County Route 76 in the Town of Pulteney around 1:15 a.m. After the crash, the area was reportedly blocked off for several hours.

There's no word yet on the names of the deceased, or the cause of the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, and more information is expected to be released by the Steuben County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday.
