CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) – This week's adoptable pet is Holly. Holly is a 3 ½ year old cat. Arynn Brucie, with the Chemung SPCA says this is Holly's second time with the shelter. She goes onto say the adopters were moving and had to bring her back. This cat has been with the SPCA since August. Brucie says she believes Holly would be fine around kids and possibly even other cats.

Sticking with cats, Brucie says there are a lot of cats with the shelter that have been with them for a while. She goes onto say the adult cats tend to stay with the shelter for longer.

The spay neuter clinic next to the SPCA is coming together. Brucie says walls have been put up and there is concrete. She says “it is actually starting to look like a structure.” Brucie does warn people that the parking lot is muddy, so to be aware when coming to the shelter. Crews are working on paving the parking lot, so this should not be a problem for too long.

The free rabies clinic is this Saturday, October 26th. It will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ernie Davis Community Center. That's on East Fifth Street in Elmira. All dogs, cats and ferrets are welcome to get vaccinated for free.
