ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- It's still October, but the Arctic League is already on the lookout for a Christmas tree.

The organization raises money to provide Christmas gifts for children and families in Chemung County who otherwise couldn't afford them.

Every year, the Arctic League displays a donated tree on the stage of the Clemens Center in Elmira for its fundraising broadcast, which, according to the Star Gazette, will take place December 1.

The tree should be about 10 to 12 feet high and must be located in Chemung County. Potential donors should call Arctic League board member Tom Seem at (607) 562-8082 with a brief description of the tree and its location by November 15.
