Corning, NY (WENY) --The Corning Painted-Post school district board is expected to hold a special meeting regarding plans to build a greenhouse.

The board is expected to vote on a resolution regarding the project on Monday. The resolution will move construction of the 629 square foot greenhouse forward. The resolution also stipulates, that the district has met the state's environmental conservation laws and that the construction wouldn't have any environmental impact.

The greenhouse is slated to be 30 ft. x 30 ft. and sit on top of the high school in downtown Corning. It is expected to have over a dozen solar panels for renewable energy. The greenhouse will also be attached to 2 classrooms.
