CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) – This week's adoptable pet at the Chemung County SPCA is Sweetie. Sweetie is a female kitten who is 5 months old. Arynn Brucie, with the SPCA says the animal is spayed and vaccinated. Brucie goes onto say this cat lives up to her name and believes Sweetie would “fit in with just about any family.”

This month is 'Adopt a Senior Pet' month. For the month of November, the SPCA is offering a special. It is a seniors for seniors program. This program allows anyone the age of 60 or older to take home an animal over the age of 8 for free. Brucie says older animals often like to live in a more quiet home and seniors can often provide that lifestyle for them.

Lastly, there will be a free rabies clinic on Saturday, November 16th. It will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Horseheads Town Hall. The town hall is located at 150 Wygant Road. All dogs, cats and ferrets are welcome to get vaccinated at no cost.
