HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) – Wednesday, officials commemorated the grand opening of Finger Lakes Audiology, PLLC.

The facility is located at 63 Colonial Drive in Horseheads. The audiologist and owner, Dr. Amanda Malvica Snell, says she opened the facility in order to provide the community with “comprehensive hearing healthcare using state of the art equipment while offering the latest in hearing aid technology and custom hearing protection”.

"My goal is to create a practice that detects the hearing problem early and treats the hearing problem so it can lead to a better quality of life for my patients,” said Dr. Snell. “So I really want to do that by providing comprehensive health care, hearing health care with affordable solutions for hearing devices if necessary.”

Dr. Snell received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing from Elmira College and went on to earn her Doctorate of Audiology from Salus University in 2008. She is a Chemung County native with over a decade of experience in clinical practice and hospital settings.

Finger Lakes Audiology is open Monday – Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 – 1:30.
