(WENY) - President Trump is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear a tax case by this week.

Trump's lawyers say that they will ask the court to hear an appeal by Thursday. The attorney's say prosecutors in New York state can obtain his tax records.
Lawyers and the state prosecutor sent a letter to U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero on Friday. In that letter, they said they can quote "fully brief the matter no later than November 25th." That is if the court agrees to review the rulings.
Marrero signed an order that prevents Trump's records from being turned over by an accounting company until all appeals are resolved. The records date back to 2011.
