Painted Post, NY (WENY) -- A Painted Post salon and spa is getting into the Christmas spirit by raising money for a local non-profit agency.

"Haircolor masters and Rejuvenating day spa" is celebrating 15 years in business, in Painted Post, by teaming up with the Steuben county Habitat for Humanity. The salon and spa held a silent auction fundraiser with proceeds going directly to the non-profit. The silent auction included things like three free oil changes from Firestone and a fifty dollar gift certificate to VanZiles show store. Co-owner Deanie Knowles said each year that they've been open they've tried to partner with a different charity. Knowles said they choice habit for humanity because of all the things they do, besides just building houses, require funding.

“Habitat is one of those things, when there's a house being worked on or a house going up you hear about it but you don't hear about how they need funds throughout the year, so rather do an obvious one that shows up throughout the holidays, this year the staff came up with doing it for habitat.” said Knowles.

The auction may have finished but they're also offering paper ornaments for $5 a piece.
