Man Arrested Following High Speed Chase in Watkins Glen
WATKINS GLEN, NY (WENY) -- Watkins Glen police arrested a man from Beaver Dams after a high speed chase in Schuyler County Saturday evening. Police charged 28-year-old Brandon Fuller of Beaver Dams with two counts of Reckless Endangerment, one county of Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer, Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury accident, Reckless Driving, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and Driving While Intoxicated.
Police say they were dispatched to a possible domestic dispute in the village just after 8PM. When they arrived, they say a man in a black pickup truck started the vehicle and took off on the officer. The officer followed the truck as it headed south on Madison Avenue and onto East 6th Street, where the pickup hit another vehicle at the intersection with Franklin Street. That vehicle heavy damage on the rear passenger side.
From there, Watkins Glen Police say Fuller then sped on State Route 14 through the village, hitting speeds of 80 miles per hour. Police pursued Fuller until his truck stopped working, and they then took him into custody. Only minor injuries were reported in the ordeal.
Fuller was sent to the Schuyler County jail in lieu of $750 bail. Police say more charges are pending.
