NEW YORK (AP) - A financial reckoning could be coming for the U.S. Roman Catholic Church. New statutes-of-limitations laws in 15 states are clearing the way for sexual abuse claims going back decades. And that deluge of lawsuits could surpass anything the nation's clergy abuse crisis has seen before. Associated Press interviews with attorneys and clergy watchdog groups found the number of new cases against the church could top 5,000, with more than $4 billion in potential payouts.
