AUBURN, N.Y. (WENY) -- An Auburn man is behind bars after fleeing from police and sending an officer to the hospital.

State Police tried to stop Reynaldo A. Ratcliffe Sierra, 23, on State Route 5 Monday, but he sped away. After driving into the city of Auburn, Ratcliffe Sierra reportedly fled on foot, and resisted arrest, injuring an officer in the process.

The officer was treated at Auburn Community Hospital and later released.

The suspect is facing multiple charges and is behind bars in Cayuga County Jail without bail. A list of the charges is below.

  • Violating State Sanitary Code
  • Reckless Driving
  • Numerous violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law
