TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.(WENY)-- The Ithaca Salvation Army is taking on a new fund raising challenge this year.

"Starting at 6 p.m. On Friday, December 6th, I will be starting to ring the bell until December 7th at 6 p.m. So 24 straight hours with maybe a break or two in between but 24 hours to raise money for the local salvation army," says Lieutenant Stacy McNeil, Ithaca Salvation Army.

McNeil will be will be stationed at the Ithaca Walmart ringing the bell, working on raising that money. She is hoping to gain one or more sponsors to match what they make during the challenge, to help them get to $20,000. '

The ringing will go from 6 p.m. Friday night until 6 p.m. Saturday night. You can donate money out of your pocket, or donate it digitally.
