Horseheads Police arrest Hanover Square hit and run suspect
UPDATE (1/8/20) Horseheads Police say they have arrested the suspect involved in a hit and run that happened in Hanover Square Tuesday evening.
Police say 54-year-old Edward Kingsley of Elmira Heights was charged with the following:
- Leaving the scene of a personal injury accident
- Aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle
- Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle
Kingsley was released on an appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date.
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Horseheads Police Department is looking for a hit-and-run suspect after a pedestrian was hit by a truck in Hanover Square on Tuesday night.
Horseheads P.D. says it happened around 6:00 p.m., and the vehicle involved left the scene heading eastbound on Old Ithaca Road. The vehicle is described as a newer style dark colored pick-up truck with silver trim. The driver was described as a white male, late 40's or early 50s', between 5'8" and 5'10", bald, and has a larger build.
There's no word on the condition of the person that was hit.
