Firefighters in Horseheads asking for the public to help clear snow from fire hydrants. This is so they can better assist you in case of a fire and so the hydrants are more easily accessible.

The Horseheads Fire Department posted on their FaceBook page asking the community to “remove any snow and ice” from hydrants, “clear a wide enough perimeter around the hydrant,” which is about 3 feet in all directions, and to “clear a path form the hydrant to the street.”
