HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- People gathered together at the Yule Ball in Horseheads on Saturday evening.

The event was a reason for ‘Harry Potter’ fans to dance and dress up in themed costumes. There were themed drinks and food, a DJ and games of Quidditch.

Wizardfest host Tyler Adams conducted trivia night during the Yule Ball, a wizard-themed party.

He said many come to this event to show off their costumes and to enjoy butterbeer.

“Some people are really just here are here for the themed drinks,” he said. “They want to have a good time.”

Butterbeer maker Lisa Lowmaster talked about how big of a hit the drink is.

“Every time anybody comes through -- almost everyone is purchasing it,” she said. “They order their food but they also get their butterbeer and this is non-alcoholic...it's just something fun.”

'The L' Promoter Adam Bunce said the entertainment company teamed up with Wizardfest to put on the Yule Ball for ‘Harry Potter’fans.

“They're playing Quidditch in there which is obviously a Harry Potter-themed game, they're doing a couple of rounds of trivia, they have people dressed in costume to show which house they represent and at the end of the night they're going to have a best-dressed costume award, as well,” he said.

Bunce said people can expect more events to be hosted by ‘The L’ in 2022.
