La Charme Boutique Hosts Holiday Pop-Up Shop
(MONTOUR FALLS, N.Y.) WENY -- The Le Charme boutique showcased a pop-up shop in Montour Falls this afternoon.
Local businesses came together to sell their products. Business owner Maggie Zegilla wanted to do a pop-up event for anyone doing last-minute holiday shopping.
Zegilla believes it is important to shop local. She invited other local businesses into her boutique to show her support.
“It's just really important to support your small local businesses,” she said. “You know, this is how we take care of our families and support other people.”
Zegilla said small businesses tend to lean on each other for advice. Every vendor that attended the event knew each other through pop-up shops in the past.
“We're all kind of connected based on our small businesses and that's one great thing," she said. “We have this is secret power of connecting with each other.”
Herbalicious Co. owner Tori Magee sold candles and natural soy wax melts during the event. Magee was overjoyed to see other female-owned small businesses working alongside her.
“I think people go out on a limb to support their dreams and goals,” she said. “I think the fact that they have the courage to do that...supporting them just really means a lot.”
Zegilla urged people to visit her business, shop local and support women in the community. She will be hosting more pop-up shop events in 2022.
