BATH, N.Y. (WENY) - A Bath man has been arrested for allegedly imprisoning and threatening another person with a weapon.

Bruce Campbell, 38, was arrested on March 20th after state police and a SWAT team responded to an incident on Bean Station Road in Wheeler. Campbell allegedly forcibly detained the person and threatened them with a weapon according to the Sheriff's Office.

The arrest report says that he damaged property and did not respond to orders to leave the home.

The Crisis Negotiation Unit responded and tried to start contact with Campbell, but allegedly refused. Campbell eventually surrendered once the SWAT team got involved.

He was charged with Unlawful Imprisonment in the First Degree, a class E Felony, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, a class E Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree and Menacing in the Third Degree.

Campbell was arraigned in court and was released.
