BIG FLATS, N.Y. (WENY) -- A Rochester woman was arrested Friday after police say she was part of a group that stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a store in Big Flats.

27-year-old Shiasia Hill was charged with grand larceny. According to the Chemung County Sheriff's Office, Hill was identified as a suspect by the Southern Tier Crime Analysis center, the New York State Intelligence Center, and the Monroe County Probation Department.

She was arrested after the sheriff's office says Hill, and two other unknown women removed security devices from multiple items from the Best Buy on County Route 64 in Big Flats. The group allegedly hid the items in their purses, pockets, and a baby stroller.

In total, the group is accusing of stealing items with a total value of $7,177. Hill was arraigned and released under the state's Bail Reform Law. She's due back in the Town of Big Flats court at a later date.
