PAINTED POST, N.Y. (WENY) - A new Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant will be opening next month in Painted Post.

Titled "The Crystal Bucket," the restaurant will open May 3rd on North Hamilton Street Painted Post and its the first of its kind in town.

The building features include a curved design, light-filled windows, floor-to-ceiling glass and simple hanging glass pendants with a cathedral wood ceiling.

Playing off the fact this building was the former Chemung Canal Trust Company bank, there's a 'Vault Door' inside, beyond it houses the Colonel's Secret Recipe blend of 11 herbs and spices.

The space also features a one-of-a-kind local welcome mural showcasing a sketch of the building and the Colonel. The exterior was refinished so the rotunda of the building now features red and white stripes as a nod to the famous KFC bucket.

The first 50 customers will be awarded a free chicken for a year gift card, valid for 52 meals.

The restaurant plans to hire more than 50 new team members.
