ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) - Cafe Dewitt has officially re-opened in Ithaca under new ownership with a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.

The Cafe will serve breakfast and lunch with some innovative sandwiches on the menu. The owners worked closely with local farmers and producers in crafting the menu.

They say that they are looking forward to serving people in the community.

"It felt really exciting, and kind of real now so, it feels good to be on this new side of the whole deal where we get to move forward and just cook food and have an open restaurant and be back in the community, absolute support, love, excitement, people are just excited to have their butts in our seats again."

Cafe DeWitt opened in 1973 as a small coffee shop for the residents of the then newly repurposed building. The Cafe is well known for their 4-time Best of Ithaca awarded weekend brunch that is bolstered by many rotating specials.
