DANSVILLE, N.Y. (WENY) - A Dansville Doctor has agreed to pay more than $600,000 for allegedly billing Medicare and Medicaid for procedures that were never performed.

According to a U.S. attorney, James Sakr, an ear nose and throat doctor, allegedly billed Medicare and Medicaid from January 2014 to December 2019.

The attorney says they were billed for procedures not performed at all or were not documented in patient medical records.

The announcement said the claims were brought under the whistleblower provisions of the False Claims Act.
