CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) - The Corning Community College softball team had a phenomenal season, and the postseason accolades continue to roll in as infielder, Grace Vondracek was named the 2022 NJCAA Division III Softball Player of the Year.

The Odessa native led all NJCAA divisions with a .626 batting average and .683 on-base percentage. She also led the nation with 97 hits and 88 runs scored. Vondracek was named to the All-American First-Team and was a National All-Tournament team selection. She is the second straight CCC player to earn Player of the Year honors after Elmira's Lexi Wood won it last season.

Corning Head Coach, Stacy Johnson said "Grace Vondracek is the most naturally athletic student-athlete I have ever had in the Corning program. This kid is so unique in the fact that she can beat you with her feet or her bat."

The Red Barons finished the season 40-8, capturing their second straight Region III Title, and finished as the runner-up in the National Championship for the second straight year.
