ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - Elmira College women's hockey standout, Eliza Beaudin added to her long list of accolades as she was named the 2021-22 Empire 8 Co-Woman of the Year.

Beaudin is the first Elmira College student-athlete chosen for this honor.

The award honors a female student-athlete who has distinguished herself throughout her collegiate career in areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service, and leadership.

Beaudin was a four-year starter for the Soaring Eagles where she helped EC to three UCHC Tournament Championships and an NEHC regular season and tournament title last season which included a trip to the NCAA Frozen Four. This season, she led the team and was among the nation's best in scoring with 42 points on 18 goals and 24 assists. In January, she became the 17th player in program history to reach 100 career points, and one month later she was named NEHC Player of the Year. Beaudin was also named a finalist for the Laura Hurd Award, which is given by the AHCA to the Division III Women's Player of the Year.

Beaudin excelled in the classroom, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 3.94 GPA as a Psychology major, and she was an active member of the Elmira community.
