Endless Mountains Bikepacking Loop Introduced to Public in Towanda
TOWANDA, P.A. (WENY) - The endless mountains gravel bikepacking loop was introduced to the public at Dandy Mini Marts in Towanda.
The loop is a collaborative effort between the Endless Mountains Heritage Region and Visitors Bureau, Bradford County Tourism Promotion Agency, and the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission.
Using existing roads and trails throughout the region, the estimated 400 mile loop extends through Susquehanna, Sullivan, Bradford and Wyoming Counties
The agencies say that promoting their bicycle friendly business program here in the Endless Mountain region will bring in more visitors/tourism.
Sullivan County Commissioner Donna Iannone says it's a way to showcase the beautiful endless mountain region on two wheels.
"So if somebody wants to ride it they can access it from anywhere, like right here," said Iannone. You can access the ride and choose to do how much you want, you can do the whole ride which is four hundred and some miles, over thirty six thousand feet of climbing, it's meant to just be a showcase of all our community, and to bring people into our region."
The Outdoor Industry Association recently found that outdoor recreation is an $11.8 billion industry in the state of Pennsylvania, generating over 145,000 jobs.
