HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) - After another exciting lacrosse season in the Southern Tier, the New York State Sportswriters Association released the 2022 All-State Teams with student-athletes from Sections IV and V being recognized.

In the Large School division, Corning senior midfield, Ethan Hart was named Third Team All-State while junior attack, Chris Grimaldi made the Fourth Team. Also from Corning, Mikey Gigliotti and Dillon Kennedy were named Honorable Mention in the Large School class. All four players helped the Hawks to their third straight Section IV Championship before falling to Baldwinsville in Regionals.

Horseheads' senior attack, Patrick Carpenter made the Fifth Team. Nate Tenbus and Matthew Baker represent the Blue Raiders on the Honorable Mention list. Horseheads had another successful season, finishing 11-4 before falling to Vestal in the Section IV Class B Championship.

Rounding out the local student-athletes in the Large School team is Elmira's Kaiden who was an Honorable Mention.

Two student-athletes were recognized on the Small School team. Haverling's Jamie O'Neil was named to the Fourth Team while Notre Dame goalie, Grant Crossley made the Sixth Team. Crossley helped the Crusaders to a 10-6 season before they lost to Chenango Forks in the Section IV Class D Semi-Finals. He finished his high school career top 10 in the country in all-time saves.
