Elise Kline recently joined Lilly Broadcasting’s Albany, NY Bureau in August 2022.

Elise is from Boston, MA, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies at Emmanuel College. While studying at Emmanuel, Elise was a diligent member of Her Campus. Her reporting at HC helped show the importance of student activism for period poverty. When she wasn’t writing for HC, she spent most of her time at baseball games cheering on her favorite team—the Boston Red Sox.

She later moved to Washington, D.C. to pursue her Master’s degree in Journalism and Public affairs at American University, where her journalism career took off. Elise covered Supreme Court hearings, local D.C. community issues, and breaking news for AU’s graduate school paper, The Wash. She also covered period poverty during her freelance work for the local D.C. paper, The DC Line. Her reporting addressed the implementation process of local legislation that would provide free period products to D.C. schools.

Following her freelance journalism experience, Elise went on to work as a reporting apprentice for the non-profit newsroom where she covered abortion, online harassment, and election integrity issues.

In her free time, Elise loves to explore art museums, go to baseball games, and spend time with her fluffy black cat, Thackery Binx, named after her favorite Halloween movie--Hocus Pocus.

Elise is excited to be a member of Lilly Broadcasting and report on issues important to you from New York’s capital.
