ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) - An Ithaca woman was charged after officers responded to a report of an armed robbery.

According to IPD, 26 year old Emily Morris was arrested after police responded to the report at the five below store on South Meadow Street at around 8:30 PM Tuesday night.

Police said that the victim reported that prior to calling the police, Morris loaded up a bag of items and was about to leave the store without paying. Police said the victim confronted Morris and tried to prevent them from leaving the store.

Morris then pulled out a knife and eventually ran through the back emergency door of the store.

Officers eventually located Morris and was brought into custody.

Morris was arraigned by Ithaca City Court Judge Seth Peacock and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $5000 cash bail / $5000 insurance bond.
