ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Final preparations are underway for Elmira College's upcoming 54th Annual Octagon Fair.

The Elmira College Octagon Fair is a family-friendly event that is open to the public. More than 80 student clubs and organizations, as well as vendors and food trucks from the community, will be throughout campus selling their own products as part of a fundraising effort for each group.

"It is a time for community members to showcase what they have [to offer] and raise money for themselves," said James Blair, a senior at Elmira College and the Student Coordinator of the Octagon Fair. "It's also a time for clubs and organizations on campus to show what they have...as well."

Other features at the event include live performances throughout the day, creative games for family members to play, craft booths, local authors, puppet shows and more.

The 54th Annual Elmira College Octagon Fair will take place on Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on campus grounds. Admission is free and everyone in the community is invited to attend.
