CORNING, NY (WENY) -- Thousands of runners are descending on Steuben County this weekend for the annual Guthrie Wineglass Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday.

Before the race, runners came to the Corning Museum of Glass on Friday, for the first day of the annual runner's expo. There, they pick up their race bibs, and can shop around for mementos and race-related items and memorabilia. They can also meet with health and running experts, as well as socialize with other runners before Sunday's race.

"Today [Friday] is the start of our expo for Wineglass weekend, ti's kicking off the weekend. Tomorrow [Saturday] we start with the 5K, the Storeflex 5K, Sunday morning bright and early kicking off the day with the Guthrie Marathon and Wegmans Half Marathon," explained Wineglass Race Series Director, Sheila Sutton.

This year's field for Sunday's race includes 4,500 runners for the full and half marathon combined, from 48 states and 15 countries.

The runner's expo continues on Saturday from 9AM to 6PM.
