ELMIRA HEIGHTS, NY (WENY) -- A local comic book shop is hosting a free comic convention on Sunday, October 2nd.

Pop Market Comic Con will be held on Sunday at the Elmira Heights American Legion at 236 Scottwood Avenue from 11AM - 4PM. The event is hosted by Heroes Comic Shop, in partnership with Big Nerd Coffee Roastery.

The event will include nationally known comic book authors and illustrators; there will also be food vendors, pop culture vendors, crafters and entertainment.

“Morgan Grover from Big Nerd and myself are looking forward to provide a high quality show with no admission charge. We are grateful for our attendees who help the Pop Market make a charitable contribution to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. It’s a win/win/win – throw a community party, wear a costume and raise money!” said Jared Aiosa with Heroes Comic Shop.

The event is free admission, and is family friendly. Costumes are encouraged.
