Festive Friday: Bradley Farms dazzles Twin Tiers with 'Twinkle Town'
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – A holiday tradition returned to Bradley Farms this season with the shimmering sights of Twinkle Town.
“This is our fourth year of operating this, and we've tried to keep it as a… we could probably call it a classic or a retro [show]. Just to bring back some memories,” said Dan Hurley, owner of Bradley Farms.
With an illuminated track more than one mile long, guests can drive through to gaze at colorful characters like Rudolph, a nativity scene, a winter carousel, and of course, Santa and his elves. More than one million light bulbs are used to create Twinkle Town’s 200-plus displays.
As guests drive, they can tune into Bradley Farm’s own radio station to listen to Christmas music.
New this year, Bradley Farms has set up a free, indoor light display that people can walk around and look at, which is attached to their market.
“Christmas is probably the happiest,” Hurley said. “When we see people, they're just full of joy. When they come out of the lights, when they come in, they're just very, in a very happy mood.”
Hurley said the light show has become a beloved holiday tradition for many residents throughout its four-year history.
“We've seen several generations together traveling through, and it's nice to be able to do that,” he said. “[I]t helps people reflect on each other and enjoy the Christmas season.”
The Pomeroy family agrees with Hurley.
“It’s something good to start with the grandkids,” said Kevin Pomeroy, attending for the second year in a row. “They do a really good job here.”
Twinkle Town is open every night at Bradley Farms from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. until Dec. 31. Tickets are $25 per car, and part of the proceeds are donated to Meals on Wheels.
