Country Living Magazines ranks Wellsboro as one of the best fall towns with foliage

WELLSBORO, PA (WENY)-- During the autumn season, the Northeast region can be synonymous with vibrant foliage colors. Country Living Magazine ranked Wellsboro number nine out of 55 Fall towns with the best foliage.
''We are very honored to be ranked as number nine out of 55 fall towns with best foliage. It was a pleasant surprise, ''said Colleen Hanson, executive director of Visit Potter Tioga.
For anyone interested in seeing the best of Wellsboro's foliage, Hanson recommends people to come to Visit Potter Tioga in Wellsboro.
''We have a self guided driving tour that takes folks past the best overlooks and they will get to see the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon from all different angles. We have a second self guided driving tour that takes you past the seven lakes in the county. All of which are surrounded by beautiful fall foliage," said Hanson.
With the color starting to change, Hanson said that the peak foliage is expected to be in early October. Adequate rainfall over the summer should contribute to vibrant fall colors.
However, temperatures the next couple of weeks are likely to be warmer than normal. This could cause a delay in the peak foliage.
