Four arrested on drug-related and controlled substance charges in Town of Cayuta

CAYUTA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Four people were arrested on drug-related and controlled substance charges during a traffic stop in the Town of Cayuta on October 5th, just before 2:30 a.m.
The Schuyler County Sheriff's Office said after Sheriff's Deputies investigated a 2013 Nissan Altima, they found approximately 15.5 ounces of Methamphetamine, approximately 9 ounces of Cannabis, a quantity of Cocaine, forged instruments, and other drug paraphernalia.
Police said 18-year-old Zane J. Kotmel of Ithaca was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
Police said 19-year-old Kanye A. Rouse of Elmira was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree and Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree. Police said Rouse also has four outstanding warrants, two of which were violent felonies.
Police said 23-year-old Rayquan T. Brooks of Newfield was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree.
Police said 19-year-old Mariah M. Scutt-Cornell of Brooktondale was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree.
All four were arraigned in Schuyler County CAP Court and remanded to the Schuyler County Jail without bail.
