CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Southeast Steuben County Library is hosting a Red Cross community blood drive Wednesday, January 10thfrom 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. If you donated blood at the November 9th community blood drive, you are safely eligible to donate again at this drive.

Currently the country is experiencing an emergency blood shortage. Many hospitals across the country are receiving blood products faster than donations. Since the pandemic there has been a reduction of almost 300,000 blood donors. Therefore, the Red Cross needs an additional 8,000 donations this month, in order to meet current hospital needs.  The need for blood is high, especially Type O, but your donation of any type can help save a life.
