HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA (WENY) -- In the democratic race for the state treasurer, Representative Ryan Bizzarro announced he has officially dropped from the race.

In a statement released, Bizzarro said “Pennsylvanians went to the polls and participated in our democratic process. While the results were not what I expected or hoped for, I respect the voters' choice.”

Bizzarro had just over 45 percent of the votes against Erin McClelland in the democratic race. Stacy Garrity on the Republican end took 100 percent of the votes.

Bizarro says he’s looking forward to continuing to work on behalf of all Pennsylvanians in the House of Representatives adding “I congratulate all of tonight's winners, and I thank all of my supporters from the bottom of my heart."
